Privacy Statement

Protecting your privacy is important to us. We hope the following statement will help you understand how Abbey Junction uses and safeguards the personal information you provide to us on our site. 

SECTION 1 - WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?
When you fill in our contact form or use our shopping cart to make your purchase you will be providing personal information, as such, 
we may ask for the following information:

  • First name;
  • Surname;
  • Residential address;
  • Postal address:
  • Phone numbers; and
  • Email address.

We may also ask you to nominate a UserName, a Display Name and/or a Password and credit details for the purpose of paying for a purchase.

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products, and other updates.

We may conduct surveys or market research and may seek other information from you on a periodic basis. These surveys will provide us with information that allows improvement in the types and quality of services offered to you, and the manner in which those services are offered to you. Participation in such activities is optional.

SECTION 2 - CONSENT
How do you get my consent?
When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.
If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

We may from time to time run competitions or offer additional benefits to you and we may ask you to provide us with your personal details for these purposes. Providing us with this information is optional to you. However, if you do not provide your personal information to us we may not be able to contact you or give you access to the additional benefits.

How do I withdraw my consent?
If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at any time, by contacting us at sales@abbeyjunction.com.au.

SECTION 3 - DISCLOSURE
We will often need to pass your personal details such and your name and address to companies who assist us in the delivery of our product/s. This will include but not limited to such organizations as delivery companies. If we hold personal information about you, and we no longer need that information for any purpose for which the information may be used or disclosed, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify that information, unless we are prevented from doing so by law.

We will not use or disclose (or permit the use or disclosure of) personal information that could be used to identify an individual member in any circumstances except:

  • To ensure the proper functioning of our business, the Service, and the Website;
  • To communicate promotional offers and special events to you;
  • Where the applicable law requires or authorises, us or a company holding data on our behalf to do so; or
  • Where you have given express consent to us for a prescribed purpose.

Under no circumstances will your personal information be sold, rented or licensed to any third parties for profiling or advertising purposes.

SECTION 4 - SHOPIFY
Our store is hosted by Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
Your data is stored in Shopify’s data storage, databases, and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment:
If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

SECTION 5 - THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies with respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.
For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.
In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.
Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements. We have no control over and assume no reasonability for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites, products or services.

Personal information may be stored both electronically and in hard-copy form. We are committed to keeping your personal information secure regardless of the format in which we hold it and we take all reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. 

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL). Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We will endeavor to protect your personal information as best as possible but we cannot guarantee the security of any information that you transmit to us, or receive from us. The transmission and exchange of information are carried out at your own risk.

SECTION 7 - COOKIES
When you visit our site, short text files called cookies are downloaded to your device. Cookies are used to store small amounts of information. This information is collected for remembering your shopping cart, traffic analysis, and marketing. 
Cookies will not be used to identify you personally.
Our shopping cart system uses cookies to track your session as a shopper. We also store your information so we can process your orders and let you later access that information.

We use web beacons or pixel tags on our websites, these are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the site. We also use log files, that allow us to track actions and collect data occurring on our site. Tracking technologies used are Google Analytics and Shopify Analytics. 

If you would prefer not to receive cookies, you can alter your security settings on your web browser to disable cookies or to warn you when cookies are being used. However, by disabling the cookie function in your web browser you may impede your ability to use parts of the website.
